Two William Priddy PhD Studentships are now open for applications
We wish to begin this SCRC newsletter by acknowledging the remarkable generosity of Dr William Priddy. Through his generosity we are able to offer TWO new PhD studentships to the Sussex cancer research community, which researchers can apply for immediately. Please see the details below:
These studentships are kindly supported by Dr William Priddy, the Sussex Cancer Fund and Brighton and Sussex Medical School (BSMS).
Two projects are available:
- The William Priddy Myeloma Research Studentship.
- The William Priddy Cancer Research Studentship supported by the Sussex Cancer Fund.

Newly formed SCRC Breast and Gynae Cancer research group
We are delighted to inform you that we have now held our first Breast and Gynae Cancer research group meeting. We are a multi-disciplinary group of researchers with an interest in Breast and Gynae Cancers. Meetings will be held monthly (Date TBD). We welcome newcomers with an interest in this research area or those who have a technique/skillset which may be applied to these cancers. Please contact Professor Flint if you are interested in joining.
SCRC computational cancer group now meeting
The first meetings on the theme of computational cancer research are now underway led by Frances Pearl. These will continue, including sessions focused on talks from students and sessions working towards collaborative projects and funding applications.
